12/12/06 PS 39 Holiday Party

The PS 39 Holiday Party will be on December 12 (not sure of time or place yet).
We are planning to do a "winter outerwear flea market" at the party. Here's how it will work:
Bring all of the winter outerwear that your kids have outgrown (or decided they don't like) to school. Bring things like coats, gloves, mittens, snow boots, rain boots, fleece jackets, down vests, etc. (Please make sure what you bring is relatively clean.) Drop it off in a box in the lobby (which I will put there - I haven't yet). The PTA will price everything at rockbottom prices put it on a table for sale at the holiday party. This will be a fund raiser for the PTA, and a chance for your kids to get some good outerwear at great prices. Additionally, we've got some brand new snowsuits and boots which were donated by Paragon (thank you Abby!) These items will be offered at a higher price, but still a good price.
Everything left over will be donated to charity.
Hope you can all participate!

Share Fair 11/11/06

Dear District 15 PTA Officers,
Questions? Call the CEC at 718-935-4267.

I just wanted to encourage those of you haven't yet signed up for next weekend's Share Fair to do so now!
It promises to be a wonderfully informative morning. (See details below and on the attached registration form.)

Also, this is a great way to begin to groom parents to run for PTA office next year, or to tackle a
particular fundraiser or other project. Attending the Share Fair will help them get their feet wet and
develop a little more knowledge about a couple of specific areas.

So please encourage lots of parents at your school to attend! And if you have at least three, you'll be able
to have someone in every session. :-) Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to see you on November 11!

Best,

Mary-Powel
