Just use the little orange box sent home this week to collect change from around the house or while trick or treating. Costumes are encouraged! Join us for ood, music, a haunted house, costume parade and raffle . ![]() Irvin Simon Photographers will be visit PS 39 on Thursday, October 18. All students will have an individual and a class photo taken on this day. Families will receive a proof sheet with ordering instructions later in the fall. ![]() PS 39 is continuing our participation in the ADL's No Place for Hate Program (NP4H). As our first activity, students have discussed the NP4H promise and signed a class puzzle piece for our bulletin board near the cafeteria. The NP4H program clearly defines expectations in behavior for all members of the community and helps everyone recognize their role in combating bias and bullying as a means to stop the escalation of hate. Our school will be planning several activities throughout the year to demonstrate these ideals. ![]() Please attend the year's first general membership meeting of the PS 39 Parent Association next week! The meeting will be held at Camp Friendship on Wednesday, September 26th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In addition to being an excellent way to meet the leadership and learn about all of the great things one can do to get involved in the Parent Association, we are excited to announce that there will be an expedited election for a vacant Executive Board seat focused on communication strategies and content. View the schedule for the night on our Feature Page ![]() PS 39 Welcome Dinner- An Event that Celebrates our Cultural Diversity 4:30- 7:00 pm in the PS 39 School Yard. Welcome in the school year with a fantastically fun potluck celebration of the diversity and individuality of the PS 39 Community! Bring a dish (either from your family's heritage or a favorite) to share for the potluck (although you are welcome to bring your own picnic if you prefer in case of allergies, etc.)! This is a free community event for all PS 39 families.This is a wonderful opportunity to make a family recipe with your children and share the story of why this dish is special to your family.Sponsored by The PS 39 Diversity and Inclusion Committee. PS 39 encourages family involvement because we firmly believe that a strong home-school connection is at the heart of student success. Our Family Handbook was created a few years ago after numerous meetings with our Parent Association Executive Board and School Leadership Team as an informational tool to assist you in becoming actively involved in the life of our school. It is updated before each school year.
