Ms. de Paz will be hosting two parent breakfast in January. Join us for breakfast and conversation about events and information relating to your child's grade level and school.
Grades K- 2: Monday, January 11 Grade 3-5: Thursday, January 14 Both breakfasts will be held from 8:30- 9:15 am in the cafeteria. Photo proof sheets were sent home with students. Order your photos online using the information provided on the proof sheet. The deadline to order is January 10.
If your child was absent on picture day or you would like to have their photo retaken, our make up day will be on Monday, January 11. Sign up HERE to have your child take a make up picture. PS 39 will be hosting three tours this year for prospective families that want to learn more about our school. All tours begin at 9 am and registration is not required. Our tours this year will be on December 15, January 7 and February 10. Please note that our tours are designed for adults, please leave small children at home whenever possible. The tour will begin with a presentation by our administration followed by a guided tour through our building by a staff member. If your child was born in 2011 and you live in NYC, it’s time to apply to kindergarten. You can submit an application from December 7, 2015 through January 15, 2016.
All families, including those of students with disabilities and current pre-K students, must submit an application in order to receive a kindergarten offer. You can update your application until the January 15 deadline.
Join us on Friday, December 4th for a special Family Friday. Instead of our normal Family Friday in December, we will be celebrating Grandparent and VIP Day to recognize the importance of our heritage, our community, and relationships across generations. For Grandparents/VIP's that are not able to attend: We recognize that it is not possible for all special guests to make it to our event. We would like to invite all grandparents/ VIP's unable to attend to send a letter to their special child at the school's address. Please send it to your child's attention and include their teacher or room number if possible. They will receive it on this special day! Volunteer! Everyone can help make our book fair a success by handing out vouchers on the corners near the store. There are many afternoon and evening spots that need your help! This workshop provides parents with an overview of the research and buzz behind mindfulness, and how simple strategies can improve you and your child’s happiness, grades, relationships, and health in the home and at school. Mission Be’s engaging workshop will cover the development of children from preschool through high school.
