Our onsite after school program run by CBE Kids has released their Registration Information Packet for Fall 2015 Term. Registration will begin in Mid-July on the CBE website, www.cbebk.org/afterschool. The fall term will begin on Wednesday, September 16 and end on December 11. Families can register their child from 1- 5 days per week. Children enrolled in the afterschool program with CBE will be brought to CBE's location in the cafeteria at dismissal by their classroom teacher.
On Tuesday, June 2 our amazing classroom teachers presented information during our "What to Expect in the Next Grade" Orientation Meetings. The teachers provided information about instructional and social shifts, expectations for the next grade and tips for keeping your child "on track" over the summer. The Carnival is coming!! Our 6th Annual Spring Carnival will be at PS 39 on Saturday, June 13 from 12- 5 pm. To help you get in the spirit, stop by Colson Patisserie (6th Ave at 9th Street) to see our amazing PS 39 Carnival Art Project. Bid on great art and support our school. The art show will be up until Carnival Day! All art was created by local artists (including some favorite staff members) to benefit PS 39 and are available for purchase via silent auction. Want to know what to expect in your child's grade next year? Come to our "What to Expect" night on Tuesday, June 2nd. Parents are invited to meet with the current teachers at the grade level your child will be entering in the 2015-16 school year and hear about the transition to that grade. To help accommodate family schedules and those parents that have more than one child at PS 39, each grade level will host two sessions of their presentation (5:00- 6:00pm and 7:00- 8:00 pm). Our current cluster teachers and service providers will share information during the 6:00- 7:00 window. Childcare wil be provided in the cafeteria.
We're gearing up for the annual PS39 Spring Barnes & Noble Book Fair on Saturday May 30 from 9am- 10 pm at the 7th Ave store. Stock up on summer reading, come hear favorite PS 39 staff share a story at the PJ party and tell your friends and family to shop online! AND we could use your help! Mr. Eco's Hip-Hop assembly was created on the belief that monumental changes begin with the youngest members of society. Through engaging hip-hop music using the universal love for animals and superheroes, Mr. Eco empowers students to become Eco-Heroes who know that their actions locally impact animals and ecosystems globally.
Mr. Eco performs for our school FOR FREE! Our student Green Team will be selling some eco-friendly gear for the week following the performance. Look for our sales booth before and after school! All proceeds will help support this assembly. PLUS our Green Team will keep 20% of the profits to use for a special eco-project at PS 39.
