After School Programs
PS 39 is conveniently located in the heart of Park Slope, within walking distance of several after-school program providers. Many of these providers offer in-person pick-up services directly from the school. Check out these programs below for more information!
Afterschool Programs: On-Site at PS 39
Brooklyn Beans is an independent, external vendor that provides on-site after-school programming, such as aftercare and enrichment classes. Students are seamlessly transitioned from their dismissal classrooms to the aftercare classroom hosted by Brooklyn Beans. They are a DOH approved vendor and PS 39 allows them and their respective Enrichment partners to operate on school premise.
Aftercare Program
Brooklyn Beans hosts on-site aftercare programming from school dismissal to 6pm.
Enrichment Program
Brooklyn Beans partners with local specialized vendors to offer a variety of enrichment programs. Such vendors include, subject to seasonal rotation, Park Slope United, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, Private Picasso, Brooklyn Martial Arts and many more. Registration in the aftercare program is required to participate in the enrichment program.

PS 39 has partnered with Impact Coaching Network (ICN) to launch a pilot after-school Chess Club program. The program aims to help students enjoy the game of chess while reaping its significant social and educational benefits.
The Friday Chess Club & Team meets on-site at PS 39 after dismissal during Fall 2024 (September 20 to January 31) and Spring 2025 (February 7 to June 13), with sessions held on select Fridays. Instruction and play take place in classrooms, with pick-up at 5:00 PM. Late pick-up option available.

CBE Kids After School
Congregation Beth Elohim’s After School Program offers children a wide variety of instructional classes and recreational activities in a safe and caring environment. The program operates on a trimester basis and is offered to students in grades K-5.

Textile Arts Center
Kids of TAC After School are hands-on classes in the textile arts. Our program runs from 3pm - 6pm* Mon-Thurs. Pick up is available at PS 39 on Wednesdays only. Classes run in 8-week cycles, rotating through Weaving, Printing & Dyeing, Felting & Soft Sculpture, and Sewing & Fashion. You can try one or all four!

The Coding Space
At The Coding Space students learn to tackle challenges independently, through learning to code. With a 4:1 student to teacher ratio, we provide a space for students to build their own coding projects while developing intellectual confidence, a growth mindset, and computational thinking skills. Our Park Slope after school program begins at 3:30 pm and is located at 461 6th Street.

The CREA After School Adventure + Game Design
The CREA philosophy is based on design thinking and experiential project-based learning.
