After School Programs

PS 39 is conveniently located in the heart of Park Slope, within walking distance of several after-school program providers. Many of these providers offer in-person pick-up services directly from the school. Check out these programs below for more information!

Afterschool Programs: On-Site at PS 39​

Brooklyn Beans is an independent, external vendor that provides on-site after-school programming, such as Aftercare and Enrichment classes. Students are seamlessly transitioned from their dismissal classrooms to the aftercare classroom hosted by Brooklyn Beans. They are a DOH approved vendor and PS 39 allows them and their respective Enrichment partners to operate on school premise.

Enrichment Program
Brooklyn Beans partners with local specialized vendors to offer a variety of Enrichment programs. Such vendors include, subject to seasonal rotation, Park Slope United, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, Private Picasso, Brooklyn Martial Arts and many more! Registration in Aftercare program is required to participate in Enrichment Program.

Afterschool Programs: Picking Up From PS 39​

Here are a few programs that offer pick-up services at PS 39 after dismissal. For more details, please contact the programs directly. Please note, vendors and pickup policies are subject to change.

  • CBE Kids After School

    Congregation Beth Elohim’s After School Program offers children a wide variety of instructional classes and recreational activities in a safe and caring environment.  The program operates on a trimester basis and is offered to students in grades K-5.

  • Mindful Sports

    Children who practice mindfulness while learning sports and having fun will be preparing themselves to handle a spectrum of different challenges – on and off the field.

  • Beansprouts

    located at 6th Ave & 8th Street

  • White Bird: Creative Theatrics

  • Brooklyn Acting Lab

  • Textile Arts Center

    Kids of TAC After School are hands-on classes in the textile arts. Our program runs from 3pm - 6pm* Monday - Thursday. Pick up is available at PS 39 on Wednesdays only. Class run in 8-week cycles, rotating through Weaving, Printing & Dyeing, Felting & Soft Sculpture, and Sewing & Fashion. You can try one or all four!

  • Gymstars

  • Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX)

  • Brooklyn Center Stage

  • Playday

    Located at 242 7th Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11215. The program is led by experienced art educators who are passionate about helping children explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.   • The Coding Space

    At The Coding Space students learn to tackle challenges independently, through learning to code. With a 4:1 student to teacher ratio, we provide a space for students to build their own coding projects while developing intellectual confidence, a growth mindset, and computational thinking skills.   • Chai Hebrew

    Chai Hebrew is an innovative afterschool program where Judaism comes alive in a fun and engaging educational setting.   • Wonder Kids Nature After School

    Give your child the gift to play freely and creatively in nature! Our outdoorafter school program takes place in the “Wonder Village” - a whimsical forest in Prospect Park where kids go on missions that lead them to play together, build relationships, and solve conflicts using compassionate communication. We set up creative stations to inspire imaginative play, and they do the rest!

  • The CREA After School Adventure + Game Design

    The CREA philosophy is based on design thinking and experiential project-based learning. This approach encourage creative confidence, imaginative worldbuilding, brainstorming capability, empathy, observation and collaborative skills. Students will practice physically active design in the CREA Adventure space making complex obstacle courses and by building structures and forts with our unique assortment of recycled, tech and non-tech props.
